Travel: Europe - Visit Italy (Milan & Venice)

Links are provided to locations where possible.

Couple trip: June 2023

My husband had to go to work, so I piggybacked on his trip. This is the first time I have also explored a foreign city by myself,

We visited:

  • Wandered over to see the vertical flats full of trees and wandered around the cute parkland of BAM.

  • Dumo Cathedral

  • The Brea District (It took almost 40 minutes for me to walk to the place I wanted to go to La Via Abraham Lincoln, a little street of coloured houses and lovely gardens. I spent all of 5 minutes there!)

  • Visited the botanical garden (However, it wasn't quite what I was hoping it would be).

  • Wall of dolls(An art installation in Milan, which started at the 2014 fashion show by various artists. It lists names of victims and photos of women who have been killed in violence, often by men they know, like their partner and family members. It depicts the sadness of the crime against women and the millions who have died viciously at the hands of the men who 'love' them. A powerful piece I’m glad I got to see).

  • I had a lovely time at Sesomie Park. There were red-bellied slider turtles just chillin’, a cute mermaid bridge, dogs playing in a water pool, and a little aquarium where I saw a cool octopus for the first time! That was a nice surprise! Plus, a little fashion art installation as well.

Venice

I had an extreame 24 hour trip with my sister to Venice. We spent most of our time on two smaller islands, Murano and Burano.

I hope that if you’re looking for some travel inspiration, you have found some! <3
