I have visited Ireland many times; each trip is listed in chronological order, with links to locations where possible.
Tipperary (April 2023)
Leighbridge, Carluow
The bridge is over 1000 years old, and the first bridge was built over the River. Which is the second-largest river in Ireland was also a toll bridge. The river walk had little memorials and sculptures, which were pretty.
Plus, a natural spring and nature reserve in Tulepute.
St Patrick’s Well, Clonmel, Tipperary
A natural spring.
The Village o fGolden
A really pretty village, plus the April blossom trees were out.
12th-century cathedral, the kings of Munster.
The largest medieval priory in Ireland dates back to the 12th century.
Dubin (October 2022/May 2025)
I visited Dublin for a couple of days in October 2022 and then again for 5 days in May 2025, both with my husband.

Kilmacurragh Botanical Garden (Free entry, lovely place with large gardens to walk in)
Duckett’s Grove(Free entry, nice little place - Cafe, toilets, and accessible with a little garden)
Dublin Zoo
Phoenix park (Free entry, very large park - you can see deer here)
National Botanical Gardens, Dublin(Free entry, absolutely beautiful gardens and park to walk in, with a bus stop outside)
Belfast (May 2022/May 2026)
Belfast was the first place I visited on a plane. I didn’t have a passport yet, and since it’s Northern Ireland and a part of the UK, all you need is a photo ID.
We went for a weekend in May 2022 for a ‘mini moon’ after our wedding, and then planned to go to the USA once I got my passport.
We visited:
A selfie factory
The Golden thread gallery (Free entry and lovely)
Oh Yeah music centre (We had a coffee here)
I didn’t take my camera with me.
Belfast: Half-term May 2026 trip with family
I took my very first overnight ferry ride. We got a cabin, quite pleasant. I couldn’t sleep, but I saw the sunset over the sea, which was pretty. Very expensive for drinks and food, though and take a spare pillow if you get a cabin.
Places visited:
The Giant’s Causeway (National Trust location; geological rock formation)
Carrick-A-Rede (National trust location; walk across a rope bridge to a tiny rock, where fishermen used to catch salmon)
Slieve Gullion Park (Only costs a fiver to park, this place is great for little ones. We took a little walk around the woodland to go find fairies, of course)
Kings Corrination Park (This place is so pretty for garden and plant lovers. Bit dissapointed i couldn’t walk up the structure)
Brown beach bay beach (Had toilets; the kids went in the sea)
Ulster Museum and botanical gardens (Free entry)
Titanic museum and SS Nomad (We didn’t get to see the ship last time)
CS Lewis Square (Saw the 7 sculptures; you get free parking nearby)
